Perfect Discrimination
It is also known as optimal pricing, The firm separates the market into each individual consumer and charges them the price they are willing and ablility to pay.
Example: Auctions.
Market/Segment base price discrimination
Selling blocks of tickets/product in larger quantities. For students the state government gives the bus pass for lower rates. senior persons also the government gives at lower rates.
Price Discrimination By Self Selection
It means charging different prices for the same product in different segments of the market. The prices charged may bear little or no relation to the cost of production.
Example:Bigbazaar gives some discounts,cash back coupons, Car gifts etc ,
In train we can see separate rates that is AC,Sleeper,General.
In movie thearte also we can see the diifferent rates as diamond,gold,silver.
