Price discrimination alludes to the charging of various costs by the monopolist for a similar item.

The distinction in the item might be based on brand, wrapper and so on. This approach of the monopolist is called price discrimination

Types of Discriminating Monopoly:
Price discrimination is of three types:

1. Personal Price Discrimination:
Individual price discrimination alludes to the charging of various costs from various clients for a similar item. Example: - Bakery Shop near college campus charges Rs.30 per Popcorn for IBA students while Rs.20 for localite.

2. Geographical Price Discrimination:
Under geographical price discrimination, the monopolist charges distinctive costs in various markets for a similar item. Example: - Oranges and its products are cheaper in Nagpur as compare to other cities in India.

3. Price Discrimination according to Use:

At the point when the monopolist charges distinctive costs for the diverse use of a similar item is known as the price discrimination according to use.
